Angel Locsin stars in Pinoy version of Koreanovela Only You

Category: By Administrator

"Yes, first time and kumukuti-kutitap ako!" natatawang sabi ni Angel.

How does it feel to be working again?

Back to work...back to work na.

ONLY YOU. Ano ang bagong show niya sa ABS-CBN? "Only You with Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo.

Yeah, completely iba... Remake po siya ng Koreanovela and I'm sure... Tayo kasing mga Pinoy, mahilig kumain. Ako, guilty ako doon. So, itong ano namin, gagawing fusion ng Korean food at saka Filipino food. So, I think magugustuhan ito ng mga Pinoy. Maraming matututunan.

"Challenging yung role kasi first time ko gagawin yun. Medyo bagong approach yung ginagawa namin sa MMK. Mas nakaka-challenge, ganun, and nakakatuwa kasi yung ginagawa naming episode.

Angel Locsin set to star in ABS-CBN’s version of Koreanovela Only You

Category: By Administrator
Weeks after she got confined in the hospital due to dengue, Angel Locsin made an appearance in the recently-concluded trade launch of ABS-CBN at the Rockwell Tent to promote the upcoming remake of the popular Koreanovela Only You where she stars opposite Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo. Though the beautiful actress practically wowed the audience with her very sexy dance number, she later confessed that she is yet to get back her usual ‘high energy level’. “Actually after ko ma-discharge sa hospital, one week bed rest talaga yung kailangan, ayaw mag-compromise nung doctor ko on that regard. So kailangan ko talagang habulin...kailangan ko mag-exercise para bumalik [yung dati ko’ng lakas], she said in a one on one interview with ABS-CBN.com last February 19.

As it happens, Angel can hardly rest these days as she prepares for the partial taping of her new soap in Korea this coming March. The original koreanovela was set in Venice, Italy but the Filipino remake will take on a more Asian feel. “Sabi nila maaabutan daw namin yung spring dun. Tapos kasama pa si Direk Rory Quintos na lagi ko’ng nakakasama sa mga out of the country shooting (for the previously shown movie Love Me Again) so I am sure panibagong experience ulit ito,” she revealed. Only You is the story of an aspiring chef who gets pregnant by a rich businessman whom she accompanies to search for his mother. Since Angel has never portrayed a mother role before, she admitted that she has had some doubts when this project was first offered to her.

There is no doubt that Angel would miss her team-up with lovable actor Piolo Pascual who was her first leading man in a teleserye as a Kapamilya. But then she also happily shared that she doesn’t need time to adjust with her new leading men, who have been really nice to her when she got sick last month. “Wala naman ako’ng [adjustment na kailangang gawin] kasi si Sam first partner ko talaga dito sa ABS-CBN for Maalaala Mo Kaya (Pilat episode). Wala eh, napaka-comfortable ko with Sam dahil kahit mas older siya sa akin, ang turing ko sa kanya parang little brother. Ang dami na naming napag-uusapan, may secrets na kami, nagbibigay na kami ng advice sa isa’t-isa, at pinuntahan niya ako nung may sakit ako. So I am happy. With Diet, ganun din. Nagulat ako, na-touch ako kasi dumalaw din siya sa ospital ng walang sabi-sabi, nag-wish lang siya ng get well soon, ganun,” she exclaimed.

But prior to the showing of Only You, viewers can catch Angel again on primetime television this coming February 28 for a very special Maalaala Mo Kaya episode that hopefully would bring her another Best Actress award. “Excited talaga ako kasi yung gagawin naming episode may cause.

Want to ask Angel a question? Catch her online next Friday (February 27) on ABS-CBN.com’s Kapamilya chat at 2PM (Philippine time).

Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual: Cosmo's first-ever cover couple

Category: By Administrator
The Angel Locsin-Piolo Pascual loveteam is one of the hottest team-ups in the country today, sharing an undeniable chemistry in the teleserye Lobo, their numerous endorsements, and their big-screen debut, Love Me Again (Land Down Under). Angel only has nice things to say about her onscreen partner.

“Walang masamang tinapay [kay Peej]. Napakabait. Napaka-gentleman. Never mo siyang maririnigan ng negative or masama tungkol sa iba,” Angel tells Cosmo, sharing that working with Piolo is a breeze. “Dahil masaya siyang kasama, parang nagiging inspiration mo na rin yun to come to work every day.”

Of course, everyone knows that someone else is giving Angel all the inspiration she needs off-camera. Luis Manzano has been rumored to be her boyfriend for over a year now, yet they refuse to put any labels on their blooming relationship.

To those pressuring her and Luis to give an answer –to the point of speculating that they may end up together in the end—she has only this to say.

It is a sentiment that Piolo echoes, especially since he became a Christian six years ago. “I’m praying about [finding a woman] because I want to be right,” he shares, “Hindi biro yun, e, it’s a life-long commitment. You can’t be wrong because once you make that decision, once you commit yourself, you’re bound to that person forever.”

He is dead-set on giving his kids a complete family, and refuses to rush into anything. Piolo does let slip that he has been eyeing someone, but is taking things very, very slowly.

“Nakakatakot because [having] time ang kalaban,” he reveals, adding that his idea of a relationship is having two parties that complement and inspire each other. “What if we’re not able to do that? [But] she knows my fears, she knows what I’m feeling.”

Read more about Piolo’s mystery girl and Angel’s thoughts on her past onscreen partners in the February issue of Cosmopolitan, now available in newsstands, bookstores, and supermarkets nationwide. For more of Cosmo online, log on to www.cosmomagazine.com.ph.

Angel Locsin feels pressured by her first movie with Star Cinema

Category: By Administrator
Since Love Me Again is her first movie under Star Cinema, Angel Locsin admitted that she feels pressured to meet or even exceed the expectations of audiences who are curious to see how her chemistry with Piolo Pascual will work on the big screen. Siyempre pelikula yung ginagawa eh, mayroon at mayroong pressure ‘yan.”

Though some would undoubtedly compare it with her previous works, the down-to-earth actress firmly believes that Love Me Again definitely stands on its own.

Angel further shared that working with Direk Rory is a great challenge because she won’t stop until she gets the best out of every scene.

In an interview for The Buzz Tough Ten, she mentioned that she believes that she truly became an actress at ABS-CBN and she has an acting award to prove it (PMPC Star Awards Best Single Performance by an Actress for her Pilat episode in Maalaala Mo Kaya). When asked if she feels that her dramatic portrayal in Love Me Again is also award-worthy, Angel simply expressed her wish that people would appreciate what she did for the film.

Her multi-awarded leading man Piolo Pascual was also quick to vouch for her dramatic prowess in Love Me Again. “Ako po ang sasagot niyan. Magaling po si Angel dito. Actually when we were watching it in LA (Los Angeles), nakita talaga namin na the way she portrayed her role, malinis, magaling siya, nakaka-impress. Ako I told Direk and I was telling Angel na na-impress talaga ako. There were so many scenes na naiyak ako because napakapsychedelic ng pagkakagawa ng role niya. Ang galing the way she really focused sa storya nung movie,” Piolo revealed. Direk Rory reaffirmed his statement when Angel refused to believe such words of praise, “Walang biro, actress talaga si Angel.”

Piolo Pascual on his future wife: ‘We share the same passion to God’s kingdom’

Category: By Administrator
Nag-celebrate last January 12 ng birthday ang aktor na si Piolo Pascual kaya naman he considers Love Me Again a special treat for his fans. All though there are a lot of things to celebrate about, hindi na nagbalak mag-paparty si Piolo. “Wala kasi hindi ako talaga nagpa-party. I’m not a good host. Hindi ako magaling mag-host ng mga party. Mas gusto ko na lang siya na, even at the time na may magse-serve, they’ll gonna surprise me, I’ll told them already na huwag akong mag-surprise party. So, what I’ll do on my birthday is may-outreach ako sa Malabon and promo for the movie,” lahad ni Piolo sa ABS-CBN.com.

I wanna give me another Hummer. ‘Yung pick-up na Hummer and gusto ko sanang kumuha ng Sedan. Wala ako’ng Sedan. Pero luho, eh. So, huwag muna. Huwag muna,” ngiti niya. On his Christmas gift to his leading lady, Angel Locsin, simple lamang daw ang kanyang ibinigay sa aktres. So, I saw it last night pag-uwi ko (from the US).”

Speaking of the US, naikwento na rin ni Piolo ang masayang bonding time niya doon with his son, Inigo. “We went snow boarding and it was his first time. So, natuto agad. Second run pa lang sa cable okay na and I got to spend time with my nieces and my nephew, my mom, my sisters. It was really a time to just rest. To be like everyone else. We go to outlets, we go to malls, we watch movies. Pahinga talaga. I slept with my son a couple of times. Lumalabas kami. And I really enjoyed my time this time because walang pressure.”

He might allow daw if may mga simpleng projects like commercials but as much as possible ayaw niyang madistract ito ng buhay showbiz. “It depends. It depends. Pero ayaw ko muna siyang i-expose given a chance because mada-divert ang attention niya.

Piolo will sign up with ABS-CBN again for another three years pero sumasagi sa isip niya ang pagsisilbi para sa Diyos. “I want to give back definitely. ‘Yun nga, one way of serving also is to give back. You know, what you’ve been getting so many years. Last year was one of the highlights of my life and this year I want to be able to be of service to people to be there for my friends. To be able to disciple, to be able just reach out, reach out so many people as possible… Kanina I was praying this morning, I will sign a three-year contract with ABS-CBN. After that, siguro hindi na tayo bumabata, so, I wanna go to the mission field. I really want to serve. I really want to be a missionary. Siguro three years from now and ah, if schedule permits, because in reality naman pumirma ako, I’m doing a movie, a soap, a movie. So, three years I’ll be occupied. I’ll be busy doing a movie and a soap one after the other. So, iniisip ko baka aftre three years magawa ko na ‘yun.

“It’s nice to be with someone the same interest. We share the same passion to God’s kingdom. And I’m very excited because it’s something I haven’t done before. Hindi ako nakakapag-mission. Ito na ang pinaka-service ko. So, but if it is God’s will, it will happen.” Though hindi naman requirement na matagpuan na dapat niya in three years ang love of his life, Piolo is optimistic tungkol sa mga bagay na ito. “Baka doon ko pa nga makita, eh. Baka mamaya makita ko while I’m shooting ‘di ba? I’m keeping my options open.” “It’s the least of my priorities. It’s because gusto ko’ng makitang lumaki ang anak ko muna and nag-grow naman ang relationship namin. I was in the States for two weeks, so, most of the time I bring him sa school every morning. So, nakita ko talaga na ‘yung free time ko I spent with him rather than spend it doing something else na hindi pa naman ganu‘n ka-importante sa akin. I know I’m not getting any younger but at some time you really have to think a million times before you get into it because hindi joke ‘yun.

If I can maybe choose these things that I do siguro reset my priorities. It’s (missions) a minimum of two weeks and you can be there for six months up to two years… I wanna be able to do something na alam kong will make a difference also. I don’t want say I’m quitting because ayaw ko naman. Mahal ko ‘yung trabaho ko. Alam ko hanap-hanapin ko ‘to. Pero if that will take me some time to be with somebody to God’s work I won’t hesitate to do it because na-maximize ko naman ang time ko sa showbiz. And I think lahat naman ng bagay may hangganan.”

I don’t mind na maging taga-bundok. Yeah, when I was in Bukidnon mas na-appreciate ko talaga ang buhay na walang cellphone, walang TV, walang communication. It was just me and nature. I’d always go to a mountain top every Sunday, isa sa mga bundok d’yan at napaka-simple ng buhay.”

Piolo and Angel immerse themselves as cowboys

Category: By Administrator
First paired in the ABS-CBN primetime soap opera Lobo, the tandem of Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin will now be seen on the big screen as they portray cowboys who work in Bukidnon and Australia.

In preparation of their first Star Cinema movie together, Love Me Again (Land Down Under), Piolo and Angel spent a month to train in horseback-riding under Olympian Vic Barba. Angel even sustained injuries during the training and while they shot their film in Bukidnon. In fact, a piece of rope hit Angel's eye and she had to be rushed to a hospital two hours away from their location in Bukidnon so doctors could take a look at her injury.

During the January 9 press conference of Love Me Again, the stars and the director, Rory Quintos, recalled the difficulties that they encountered while working with animals for this movie.

"Sa Bukidnon, we have Filipino cowboys who help us...They're really hands on. Doon sa Australia, wala kaming animal trainor, so kami nagtatatakbo, carrying our equipment to run after the cattle."

How did they manage to include shots of endemic Australian animals such as kangaroos? Direk Rory recalls with a laugh, "Yun yung mga tsamba shot...talagang inaabang-abang namin, pag nakakita kami ng kangaroo, takbo! Take the shots of the kangaroo!

Later on, Direk Rory admitted that she is fond of the great outdoors and that horseback riding is really her favorite sport.

COWBOY LESSONS. PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Angel at Piolo to list three lessons that they learned about cowboys while doing this movie.

Piolo points out, "Three lessons that I've learned about cowboys, anything goes. Sa Bukidnon, na-appreciate namin yung sa kanila na kung ano yung meron, you know, yun lang. Then, napakasimple ng buhay. Second thing, siguro mas appreciative sila sa nature. That's one thing I realized na talagang hindi mo kailangan ng mga gadgets, hindi mo kailangan ng mga kung ano-anong mga material na bagay to enjoy life. And third thing na natutunan ko is talagang to make life simple. The best things in life are free. That's what we realized that's what we experienced in Bukidnon."

Napaka down to earth talaga pero ang yaman-yaman niya.

What physical requirements should aspiring cowboys have?

Angel answered by saying, "Unang-una dapat po mabilis ka pong tumakbo. Kailangan po talaga mabilis kang umiwas, tumakbo, umilag, yan kailangan dahil medyo lugi tayo pag di natin yan nakayanan, di ba?

SYNOPSIS. The romance of Migo (Piolo Pascual) and Arah (Angel Locsin) in the Philippines is rudely interrupted by economic necessity. Feeling that the glory of her hometown in Bukidnon was slowly disappearing, Arah hides off to Australia to seek a greener pasture, never mind if she ahas to work in a ranch as cowgirl. There, Arah accepts accepts money from an Australian rancher in exchange for a contract. Her decision breaks the heart of Migo who opted to remain in Bukinon, believing that the place's glory days would be back in no time. When that didn't happen, Migo follows Arah to Australia where they have to confront issues concerning not only their livelihood but also their interrupted romance.

Love Me Again (Land Down Under) will open in cinemas nationwide starting January 15, 2009.

‘Love Me Again’ makes its Philippine premiere

Category: By Administrator
Now that their movie is finally making its Philippine debut, Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin shared some stories from the set of Love Me Again. During the final press conference for the movie, Angel admitted that upon instructions from Director Rory Quintos, she really slapped Piolo hard in one scene.

Piolo revealed that the slaps really hurt. Actually lagi siyang nag-aapologize every after the take,” said the dashing actor.

So inulit-ulit ko.”

In a way, Piolo got his revenge by stealing a kiss from Angel several times during a scene where Angel fell off her horse back in Bukidnon.

But even after all the kisses they shared onscreen, Piolo maintained that it was purely professional. “Yun po yung mahirap na trabaho nating mga artista because it (kissing scene) has to be realistic and that’s a craft amongst actors. Because when we get into a character, we have to feel it. So whatever you see, may katotohanan sa mga nangyayari dun. But siyempre tao ka na lang eh. Kung hanggang saan mo kaya dalhin yun, nasasayo na po yun,” he said.
